Manchester United block Marcus Rashford from joining Premier League rival

Manchester United have reportedly taken steps to block star forward Marcus Rashford from joining a Premier League rival, with the England international being a key player for the Red Devils, the club is keen to retain his services and have subsequently placed measures in place to prevent any potential move to another English top-flight team, highlighting the club's determination to hold onto their prized asset amidst interest from other Premier League clubs.

Rashford has expressed a desire to leave Manchester United for a "new challenge," leading his brother and agent, Dwaine Maynard, to meet with AC Milan in Italy last week. Despite this, the Serie A team has yet to advance their initial interest, while Napoli, also rumored to be considering Rashford, is currently pursuing Alejandro Garnacho instead. Additionally, Arsenal, Tottenham, and West Ham have shown interest in the forward this month; however, The Mirror reports that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the United management are determined to prevent the 27-year-old from transferring to another Premier League club.

The report indicates that Manchester United is open to negotiating with clubs outside the Premier League regarding Rashford's potential departure, provided that at least half of his £325,000-a-week salary is covered by the interested party.

Rashford has not featured in United’s last seven matches after he was left out of the squad for the victory over Arsenal in the FA Cup last Sunday.

Asked if Rashford has already played his final game for United, Amorim said after his side’s win on penalties: ‘I don’t know. I don’t know, we’ll see.

‘He is a player for Manchester United. We’ll see.

‘He has to work. He has to represent this club, and he loves this club, but I have to make choices. I already spoke about how I make the choices. So it is what it is.

‘So let’s continue. Let’s see the next game. And like I said, I have to make a selection.’
