CAF has announced the postponement of the CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) until August 2025. Previously, the tournament was scheduled to take place in February 2025.

The tournament is set to be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

While recognizing substantial progress in the construction and upgrading of stadiums, training fields, hotels, hospitals, and other infrastructure, CAF indicated that more time is necessary to ensure the facilities meet the required standards for hosting the event.

CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe praised the efforts of the presidents of Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, expressing confidence that the venues will meet CAF's standards for a successful TotalEnergies African Nations Championship in August 2025. Additionally, CAF has announced that the CHAN 2024 draw will be held in Nairobi on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
